I am so honored to be a part of this important day.  I had a really amazing time and I wish you both all the very best.  You’re awesome.  Thank you for making my first proposal post baby easy and so fun!

]]> http://sharonbushmanblog.com/?feed=rss2&p=888 0 taylor + amanda – surprise proposal in central park, nyc http://sharonbushmanblog.com/?p=846 http://sharonbushmanblog.com/?p=846#comments Sat, 25 Feb 2012 18:51:47 +0000 http://sharonbushmanblog.com/?p=846 This past December Taylor flew his girlfriend Amanda from the City of Angels to the Big Apple to pop the question in Central Park!  Bow Bridge was the proposal spot and just to make it even more cool, Taylor also hired a musician to casually play as they got there and specifically “I’m Yours” by Jason Mraz once he went down on one knee.   Well, little did we know that just a mere minute before Taylor and Amanda showed up, ANOTHER couple proposed!  It was crazy!  The musician starts playing “I’m Yours” and I’m trying to signal him that it’s the wrong couple but Taylor and Amanda were walking towards the bridge so I had to start photographing.  In the end, it worked out perfectly and Amanda was so surprised!  The other couple that had just gotten engaged congratulated them (I can’t help but think that the guy felt one-upped by Taylor what with a musician AND a photographer…haha! Score another one for Taylor!).

Taylor and Amanda, you are such a wonderful couple.  Your laughter was contagious and love for each other SO obvious.  Thank you for letting me in on this monumental day in your lives.

]]> http://sharonbushmanblog.com/?feed=rss2&p=846 0 alex + leslie – wedding in central park, nyc http://sharonbushmanblog.com/?p=790 http://sharonbushmanblog.com/?p=790#comments Wed, 25 Jan 2012 19:15:33 +0000 http://sharonbushmanblog.com/?p=790 Time to close our eyes and travel back in time…to the lovely, warm days of early September.  Alex and Leslie traveled from Texas to NYC for their wedding in Central Park.  I had previously shot their engagement photos so I was thrilled to see them again to shoot their wedding!  I also had the pleasure of working with I Do New York once again.  Alex and Leslie are HUGE New York Yankees fans and this was evident in many of the details and the fact that the next day, everyone went to a game as well!  Of course the Yankees won :-)  They also share a love of theatre and used an engagement shot to make their Playbill program which was SO cool.   After the ceremony at Wagners Cove, everyone headed to John’s Pizzeria in Times Square for lunch (my favorite pizza in NYC).  There, the guests opened envelopes containing tickets to the Broadway show, Jersey Boys!

The whole afternoon was fantastic and I’m so happy to have been a part of their day!  Below are some of my favorite shots.

]]> http://sharonbushmanblog.com/?feed=rss2&p=790 3 dave + lindsay – surprise proposal in Central Park, NYC http://sharonbushmanblog.com/?p=736 http://sharonbushmanblog.com/?p=736#comments Sat, 15 Oct 2011 03:29:52 +0000 http://sharonbushmanblog.com/?p=736 When Dave contacted me and told me he wanted to propose to his girlfriend Lindsay while on a row boat in Central Park, I was hesitant at first.  At the time, I had never done a boat proposal before, but had just had another inquiry from a different man asking for the same thing!  Seemed like this was my chance to get my fear of boat proposals behind me and just do it.   I just made sure he understood where to “park” the boat when he was going to propose and it ended up being more perfect than I could have imagined!!

As was the case this entire summer, the rain threatened all day, but we got away with just a few sprinkles.  Yay!

Dave and Lindsay, I hope you are enjoying your life as fiance’s in Ottawa, Canada.   Thank you for trusting me to be a part of this important moment!  I had a great time!

]]> http://sharonbushmanblog.com/?feed=rss2&p=736 4 roberto + livia – wedding in Conservatory Gardens, Central Park http://sharonbushmanblog.com/?p=683 http://sharonbushmanblog.com/?p=683#comments Sun, 02 Oct 2011 05:48:27 +0000 http://sharonbushmanblog.com/?p=683 Roberto and Livia are from Brazil!  They’re enthusiastic, gorgeous, fun, and SO in love.  I had a wonderful time spending the afternoon with them and their family and friends!   I worked with the lovely crew at I Do New York on this wedding and, as always, it went off perfectly.  The ceremony was held in the Conservatory Gardens in Central Park and then we all piled into a bus and headed to their reception at Astra.  Such a cool venue with a great view!

Since their wedding, they’ve set up home in Philadelphia since Roberto was admitted to the PhD program at the University of Pennsylvania! Yay!

I hope you’re both enjoying your life as husband and wife in the USA!

]]> http://sharonbushmanblog.com/?feed=rss2&p=683 2 Troy and Lissette : Proposal in Central Park – nyc http://sharonbushmanblog.com/?p=501 http://sharonbushmanblog.com/?p=501#comments Thu, 11 Aug 2011 15:00:57 +0000 http://sharonbushmanblog.com/?p=501 Troy proposed to Lissette on a beautiful evening in Central Park.  He had written to me asking if I would photograph the moment and said he’d like to propose on a gondola!   This sounds super romantic and wonderful, however, I had my reservations about it.  Mainly from a photography stand point as it leaves me with less control of the situation.  If the gondolier doesn’t put the boat in the right position, I could miss her reaction completely.   In the end, I decided to go with it and I am so glad I did.  It WAS super romantic and wonderful and the gondolier did great job!  Troy and Lissette are such a great couple.  It really was such a pleasure spending the evening with them.

Troy and Lissette, thank you for trusting me with such an important task!  I had a blast!  I’ll never forget the Ram and the runners in their underwear!

]]> http://sharonbushmanblog.com/?feed=rss2&p=501 4 Sam + Kiri – Wedding in Central Park : Conservatory Gardens http://sharonbushmanblog.com/?p=216 http://sharonbushmanblog.com/?p=216#comments Wed, 15 Jun 2011 01:36:47 +0000 http://sharonbushmanblog.com/?p=216 Sam and Kiri came to NYC all the way from Australia to tie the knot on a beautiful day in May.  They had been to New York on vacation together and both decided that when they got married they wanted it to be here in the Big Apple.  They chose the gorgeous Conservatory Gardens in Central Park for their ceremony.  We stopped briefly at the Plaza Hotel where they were staying (SO swanky and beautiful!) to freshen up and snap a few photos.  Then it was back into the park for a few more shots before they left me to enjoy dinner at the Boathouse restaurant.

I had SUCH a great time with you both.  I hope you are happily enjoying married life down under!

]]> http://sharonbushmanblog.com/?feed=rss2&p=140 4 alex + christine – wedding in brooklyn, nyc http://sharonbushmanblog.com/?p=68 http://sharonbushmanblog.com/?p=68#comments Fri, 25 Mar 2011 16:40:51 +0000 http://sharonbushmanblog.com/?p=68 On a windy, cold day in February, I had the honor of photographing the wedding of Alex and Christine.  When I walked into the house in Brooklyn, I was greeted by a very calm, happy bride-to-be.  She was all, “Oh, I’m good.  Not stressed at all.”  And she wasn’t, not one bit.  The ceremony took place in the living room with just their closest friends and family watching.  Some from the staircase, some from the sofa.  The ceremony was performed beautifully by one of their close friends and the vows were personal and touching.  After the ceremony, the guests lit sparklers (TRIED to light sparklers!  The wind made it near impossible) to greet the newly married couple.  Then we hopped in a limo and stopped off in Park Slope and Brooklyn Bridge Park to get some portraits.  When most couple’s would have complained about the wind and cold,  Christine and Alex showed nothing but pure happiness.  It was such a pleasure.  Plus, who doesn’t love a chapel length veil blowing in the breeze?!   Thank you both for such a memorable, happy day.
