January has been super cold and it seems there’s a snow storm every other day here in NYC. Well, love trumps weather every time and Sunday I had the pleasure of photographing Natale’s surprise proposal to his beautiful girlfriend Janine. I got a call from my friend Julie at I Do New York and she said she had a great guy that needed a photographer to complete his proposal surprise. Natale had Julie organize a horse and carriage to pick them up at the restaurant where they were having lunch which would take them to Cherry Hill in Central Park (this is where I was waiting!) Julie also had a bouquet of lavender roses (Janine’s favorite!) along with a letter that was to be placed on Bow Bridge where he would propose! I followed them to the bridge snapping shots along the way and when they got to the bridge, Janine spotted the bouquet right away (“Of course I did, it was purple!”). After she read the letter he gave her a necklace with “Marry Me” engraved on the back. He then went down on one knee. It was just perfect.
After the initial surprise wore off a bit, we walked around Central Park and braved the snow and cold for a little “newly engaged” session. It’s always so fun to photograph people in love. Especially a couple as in love as Natale and Janine obviously are. Thank you both for letting me be a part of such an important day in your lives. I thoroughly enjoyed myself capturing all the love and laughter (so much laughter!) Here are a few of my favorites!
