chris + frances – central park wedding, nyc

I walked into the room where Frances was getting ready at the Helmsley Park Lane Hotel and immediately knew this was going to be a good day.  Frances was calm, sweet and funny and her sister and niece were equally as charming!  Running  just a teensy bit late (just as every good bride should!) we thought we’d get a cab uptown the few blocks to get closer to the ceremony location at Bethesda Terrace in Central Park.  Well, that was a bad idea.  Not sure what I was thinking, what with the standstill traffic and infuriating one way streets.  We quickly hopped out of the cab and traveled on foot and got there in no time.  Chris and Frances traveled all the way from Canada to get married and the ceremony was beautiful.  Once again, I was working with the excellent team at I Do New York, and everything went off without a hitch.   Oh, and just a little side note, the beautiful bouquets…they made them!!  I was SO impressed!

Frances and Chris, I wish I had more than 2 hours to spend with you!  You were just a pleasure to be around.  I hope you’re both enjoying life in Canada as husband and wife!

Here are a few of my favorites from the day.  And CLICK HERE for their SLIDESHOW!  So many more great moments!

Headshots in NYC

Every now and again, I get a little break from shootin’ the love to photograph headshots.  When I first started my business, my intention was to specialize in headshots.  It is something I really enjoy doing, but has taken a backseat to Surprise Proposals and weddings.

I had the absolute pleasure of photographing the very stunning Nikki a couple weeks ago.  The wind made things challenging on the hair front as we maneuvered our way through the streets of the West Village, but the light was A MA ZING and so was my subject!

Nikki, thank you for such a fun evening!  I hope these bring you tons of work.

Here’s hoping Nikki doesn’t kill me for putting these up!  We were determined to shoot in this spot, but the wind just kept blowing the heck out of her hair!  I think these outtakes are beautiful!

Her favorites

It’s light like this that makes me pressure my clients for evening shoots in the summer!  No flash here, kids.  Just natural light about an hour and a half before sunset.

Want to propose to your gal on reality TV?

So yesterday I get a phone call from Bravo casting.  They are filming a new reality show here in NYC that is based on a chef and the events that he caters.   They asked me if I would like to help them find the perfect NYC based couple to propose in one of their upcoming episodes.

The proposal would need to take place in early August and will include a fully catered party!

If this sounds like something you would be interested in (or you KNOW someone who would be interested), then contact me asap!  (Just click the CONTACT button in the menu above).  Please include a description of yourself, the one you love, why this proposal would be “must see tv”, and any interesting themes you might have (the quirkier the better!)

Hopefully Bravo and I can help make this proposal an event to remember!
